A fast network connection, normally only reserved
for ISPs (very expensive), but capable of speeds up
to 1.54 megabits per second.

An even faster and more expensive connection on the
Internet, capable of 45 megabits per second.

Tag
|
A command used in HTML to define how something behaves,
such as bold text. Tags start with a '<', end with
a '>' and have the command in the middle.

|
Terabyte. 1024 Gigabytes, usually rounded down to
1000 Gigabytes for approximation

TCP/IP
|
Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol.
The way that computers communicate with each other
to transfer data over the Internet.

Telnet
|
A terminal emulation program which connects to another
computer on the Internet. Usually used to connect
to BBSes.

TFT
|
Thin Film Transistor. The technology that is commonly
used in laptop display panels and flat screens for
PCs. TFT is of a better quality when compared to DSTN.

Thread
|
A 'conversation' (for example a series of newsgroup
messages which relate to each other). If messages
follow the same topic for example, then they are following
the same thread.

Timeout
|
A state where a connection expires after a certain
amount of time.

TWAIN
|
Technology Without An Interesting Name. A standard
way that scanners and digital cameras attach to PCs.
