This is a feature of most versions of Windows. It is the cumulative resource for removing old files that were created by general computer use.

This would include temporary Internet files, downloaded program files and other temporary files. It will also empty the Recycle Bin.

A Useful utility if you do not know how to do these individually. The basic aim of this little application, is to free up some disk space, take a look here for the importance of free disk space.

The Disk Cleanup utility is located here...

Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup

If you are planning to do a health check once-over, run the Disk Cleanup utility before running Scandisk then Disk Defragmenter. There is no point in optimising the disk to read files that you are about to delete.
