Reason

There is a compatibility setting within RealPlayer G2 which normally resolves this problem.

Resolution

In RealPlayer G2, choose Options -> Preferences. Click on the Performance thumbnail and you should be able to see the 'Video Card Compatibility' section. If there is a tick then remove it, if there isn't one then add it and try again.

I have an older computer which I want to install a Free ISP and its software on, but it comes up with an error message saying I don't have enough memory

Goto the top

Reason

Internet Explorer, which is the favourite browser with the Free ISPs requires about 12Mb of RAM in order to install. Some older machines might only have 4 or 8 Mb, in which case before you try to install the software you will need more memory.

Resolution

To resolve the problem, go and buy some more memory from a local PC Store, taking all the details you have of the PC with you. Then, follow the Onlinehelp guide on adding hardware. You should then be able to install the software.

I installed one of the Free ISPs, and now I get an error message saying "Error 745: An essential file is missing"

Goto the top

Reason

This normally means that the CD you used to install the ISP didn't finish properly, and the dial-up-networking files weren't installed properly.

Resolution

Firstly try reinstalling from the free CD. If this does not work then you will need to manually install dial-up-networking, following the guide in your Windows manual.
