I get the error message "article has expired"
|
|
|
| |
Reason
|
| |
Some newsgroup servers have a setting to say
how long the message is valid for. If the
server has a message that is older than the time
allowed, it will delete it to make way for new
messages.
|
| |
Resolution
|
| |
The only way to resolve this problem is to E-mail
the person who sent the message in the first place,
and ask them to resend it.

When I reply to a mail or click on a link
on a web page, the persons name comes up in the
address box instead of the address
|
|
|
| |
Reason
|
| |
This usually means that their name and e-mail
address are already in the Outlook Express address
book, and as such putting the name in the address
box instead of the address will work, as Outlook
Express checks its address book before sending
the mail.
|
| |
Resolution
|
| |
Although this is confusing, it is a normal thing
for Outlook to do, and as such there is no remedy.

I have connected to a Free ISP using their
CD, but Outlook Express won't work
|
|
|
| |
Reason
|
| |
Recently there has been an increase of the amount
of Free ISPs that use another companies connections,
one of which is Yahoo Onlne. We have had an increasing
amount of mails because Yahoo Mail (which is what
Yahoo Online uses) doesn't support Outlook Express.
|
| |
Resolution
|
| |
If your ISP also uses a connection like Yahoo,
then you will need to use their web-based email
service which can be found at an address like
http://mail.yahoo.co.uk
